Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Staff Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate the work of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housekeeping assistants, and laundry personnel.
- Assign tasks and duties to staff, ensuring efficient and timely completion.
- Provide guidance and support to staff members and address any issues or concerns.
2. Quality Control:
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet or exceed cleanliness and maintenance standards.
- Identify and address any cleanliness or maintenance issues promptly.
- Enforce and maintain quality control procedures.
3. Training and Development:
- Train new housekeeping staff members on established standards and procedures.
- Provide ongoing training and coaching to ensure consistent performance.
- Foster a culture of excellence and attention to detail among the team.
4. Guest Services:
- Collaborate with the front desk and other hotel departments to fulfill guest requests and resolve guest issues related to housekeeping.
- Ensure guest special requests are accommodated whenever possible.
5. Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage housekeeping supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Assist in maintaining inventory records and facilitate ordering supplies as needed.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
6. Reporting:
- Prepare reports on departmental performance, including cleanliness scores, room occupancy, and maintenance needs.
- Provide regular updates to the Assistant Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Manager.
7. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that housekeeping operations comply with safety and hygiene regulations.
- Promote and maintain health and safety protocols for the department.
- Train staff on safety procedures and protocols.
8. Budget Support:
- Assist in monitoring departmental expenses and contribute to budget adherence.
- Participate in cost-effective practices, such as energy conservation and waste reduction.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Hotel Management or a related field.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a related role, with some supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Knowledge of housekeeping equipment and cleaning techniques.
- Familiarity with hotel management software and systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of local health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
