L3 Network Support Engineer (4-6 yrs)

Job Description :

Overall responsibility for ensuring the End-to-end Network operations across GAIL including all data centers and site offices.

Handle teams for Network Monitoring & Maintenance, Inventory Management, Spares Management, SLA Management, Reporting, monthly review of all deployed L1, L2 engineers, and Escalation support for complex problem resolution to L2 & L1 support engineers.

- Provide expert-level support for network-related incidents and problems, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

- Perform packet capturing/debugging of unencrypted and SSL/TLS encrypted traffic from Switches, Routers, etc., through Wireshark tool for detailed issue analysis and resolution within allotted time frame.

- Responsible for resolving network issues in East-West and North-South traffic.

- Identify and resolve network-related issues like Video conferencing applications (e.g., MS Teams, VidyoConnect, BharatVC, Webex) connectivity issues, application slowness, routing/switching issues, configuration issues within stipulated timeframe.

- Analyze network abnormalities (High Latency, Jitter, Bandwidth utilization) and take steps to resolve issues immediately.

- Implement Policy Based Routing (PBR) for application-wise traffic routing, IPSLA tracks, BGP, IPSLA, netflow, etc.

- Ensure all Network Devices, WAN Links, bandwidths, downtime reports, and bandwidth utilization reports are correctly configured and up-to-date in the GAIL NMS tool.

- Ensure real-time Business views, mail alerts, and Netflow for configured devices are properly functioning in NMS.

- Prepare configuration configlets for network devices (router, switch, etc.) in GAIL NMS for bulk configuration, including patches update, firmware upgrade, and implement across the network for configuration uniformity.

- Configure static and dynamic routing, Static & Dynamic NAT, PAT, Link load balancing, E-routes, Bandwidth Management, QOS, DNS resolution, etc., in deployed Array Link load balancers.

- Troubleshoot and escalate unresolved issues with OEM within the allotted timeframe.

- Review, modify, and create policies/rules in Forescout Network Access Control solution for Detection, Classification, Assessment, Control, and 3rd party integrations.

- Integrate all switches with 802.1x NAC for pre-admission posture assessment.

- Configure new DMZs/MZs zones for new applications hosted in the network data center using Arista SDN technology.

- Configure VLANs, VXLANs, eVPN, BGP, eBGP, application migration, and updates for Layer2 and Layer3 in spine-leaf fabric configurations.

- In-depth knowledge of Cisco SDWAN deployment, configuring Zero-Touch Provisioning between vBond, vEdge & VManage, OMP, SDWAN Security Aspects, Segmentation, Application monitoring, multi-tenancy, etc.

- Coordinate with FMS support engineers for quarterly policy and rule reviews and troubleshooting.

- Assist support teams to submit RCA for major issues within SLA and follow up on TAC cases with OEM for closure.

- Manage IP schema, VLANs of WAN, DC, DR LAN, DMZ, MZ, and public IPs provided by ISPs.

- Use IPAM (IP address management tool) for managing IPs per Scope of Work.

- Configure, implement, and troubleshoot IPMPLS, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IPSEC, HSRP, 802.11, 802.1x, SNMP, IPv6 routing, tunneling, HSRP, VRRP, SLA, DHCP, DNS, FTP, TFTP, NAT/PAT, VTP, STP, Trunking, dot1q Tunnelling.

- Implement QoS across GAIL routers and switches, including FIFO, Priority Queuing, Custom Queuing, RED, CAR, and MQC-based Traffic shaping and classification.

- Coordinate with ISPs, OEMs, and SIs for resolution of network-related issues, including Internet Links, ILL BGP issues, blacklisting of public IP pools, ISP port blocking, etc.

- Visit GAIL Corporate Office Delhi for major network issue resolution as needed.

- Responsible for backup of all devices at Noida and Jaipur DCs as per GAIL policy, including configuration and log backup.

- Provide a detailed plan for DR Drill, coordinate with departments for DR Drill completion, and submit RTO/RPO reports.

- Handle resource-shift planning during the contract and provide monthly attendance reports to GAIL.

- Maintain working knowledge of ISO 27001 and industry information security standards.

- Work closely with onsite teams on discussions, POCs, and new technology evaluations.

- Ensure closure of audit findings for sites/offices/DC/DR within the given timeframe and provide audit-ready proofs.

- Coordinate with TAC and OEMs for escalations and other network-related jobs as assigned by GAIL.

In-depth knowledge of the following :

- Analyze and Capture EIGRP, SMTP, SSL, OSPF, HTTP, Telnet, and other protocols using Wireshark.

- NX-OS family Nexus & Catalyst switches (9K, 3K), Leaf & spine architecture.

- MPLS, QoS techniques including FIFO, Priority Queuing, Custom Queuing, RED, CAR, MQC-based Traffic shaping, and classification.

- SD WAN Architecture and components, Cloud networking, SDN Spine Leaf.

- Network Automation, EVPN, VXLANs, BGP, eBGP, IPSLA, ACLs, NetFlow, SNMP V3 configuration, 802.1x.

- NMS such as ManageEngine, SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios.
