Senior Accountant

Role & responsibilities

• Supporting and coordinating closing activities and safeguarding accurate and timely reporting in the monthly closing process.
• Responsible for ensuring an effective internal control structure is in place and maintaining compliance with SOX, US GAAP and Luminar accounting guidance.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization of reporting and analytical processes to drive productivity and efficiency.
• Provide analytical and financial ad hoc support to sites.
• Demonstrates an understanding of various accounting processes and identify root causes and areas for improvements.
• Evaluate transactions and record to the GL as necessary to ensure the financials are accurate, complete, and in accordance with US GAAP.
• Research accounting literature to ensure compliance with GAAP.
• Direct multiple strategic analyses for improved profitability and increased visibility for leadership on drivers of site financials.
• Leader in resourcing talent and diversity, involved in all parts of the hiring and development process.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance and/or the equivalent in experience
• CA or CPA
• 4-8 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of US GAAP
• Well organized, detailed oriented, open to change and willing to learn new skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to apply policies and standards consistently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately, comply with deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work independently
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
