SR Network Implementation Engineer

Position Summary:

• Planning and scheduling maintenance activities related to Revenue-Growth, Infrastructure Augments or Software Upgrade Rollouts
• Lead special projects to complete integrations and achieve cost savings
• Responding swiftly and assisting with all major incidents (when appropriate) caused by network failures (technical crisis manager)
• Ownership of problem records that have an infrastructure wide impact
• Drives standards and ensures a consistent support from the global team
• Maintains collaborative relationships with key departments across the company
• Provide consulting services to our customers and other internal teams when support is needed around the Data Center Hosting Network
• Ensure successful execution of change management activities

Minimum Requirements:

• Should have 12 + Experience working with Network Switches, Routers, Firewalls and Load Balancers a must.
• A strong security background and understanding of internetworking technologies such as STP, ISIS, BGP and OSPF, as well as MPLS-based technologies a must.
• Cisco ASA / Firepower firewalls, Palo Alto, Checkpoint and/or any other firewall platforms
• Enterprise & Core Routing and Switching Experience, Juniper or Cisco a must.
• A10 & F5 Load Balancer experience
• Python and/or Perl scripting an advantage.
• Ensure all processes and procedures are always adhered to.
• To build good relationships with our clients, your peers, managers and other CenturyLink teams through appropriate communication and team working.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, written, presentation and communication skills.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills, with demonstrated ability to determine root cause to performance shortfalls and implement corrective actions.
• Experience working within Global teams.
• Ability to develop and motivate others to do what it takes to get things done, set an example by embodying CenturyLinks unifying principles.
• Knowledge of CenturyLink offerings, products and services an advantage.
• Knowledge of ITIL.
• Knowledge of LEAN principles & methodology.

Preferred Requirements

• Ability to design, implement, and support iRules for F5 BIG-IP appliances.
• Knowledge of other network and security technologies, including:
1. Palo Alto firewalls
2. A10 load balancers
3. ACI/SDN next generation networking
• Knowledge of other network and security services
1. DDoS
2. Cloud services
• A degree in IT or equivalent proven experience in technical support roles for high-availability data centre infrastructures.
