Category Finance Manager
Were hiring a Manager with expertise in Retail industry and Advanced Analytics for our Category Finance Analytics team at Lowes. In this role you will drive the development and implementation of analytical solutions for FP&A, Business Finance functions and strategic initiatives. Collaborate with stakeholders in India and the US to leverage data-driven insights, solve complex challenges, and propel business growth. Responsibilities Include:
- Design, develop & deliver insightful financial reports, dashboards and analyses for executive leadership
- Management of processes and reporting across Finance in support of monthly forecast, annual planning, Board of Director meetings and Earnings Call preparation
- Provide in-depth analysis on financial performance and root cause variances to forecasts
- Provide proactive and timely financial analysis that highlights risks and opportunities to drive better business decisions
- Develop and/or enhance existing financial models used to review financials and perform variance analyses
- Solve complex problems and share critical information to enable alignment across the organization
- Drive process improvement initiatives such as reporting automation and evolution, and integrated forecasting and planning
- Facilitates the financial forecasting and planning processes with Merchandising leadership partners that result in quarterly forecast updates, annual plans, and long range plans (2-3 years)
- Collaborates across the business to provide root cause analysis and actionable insights based on financial and non-financial data to Merchant leadership partners. This includes the optimization of the deployment of financial resources on behalf of the Company and responsibility for instilling financial acumen in the business to create a foundation for strong decision-making.
- Seeks to maximize financial returns through communication of financial and non-financial insights to leaders by preparing analyses using multiple data sources; translating findings into clear, understandable themes; identifying complete, consistent, and actionable insights and recommendations
- Develops business cases for key initiatives and major programs by creating robust financial models tied to a program s (or initiative s) strategic narrative; identifying risks to the organization and engaging the business owner in risk mitigation and trade-offs; identifying and measuring key trigger points (metrics) that provide insight into an initiative s success (leading and final indicators)
- Completes work assignments by applying up-to-date expertise in subject area; leveraging an understanding of policies, data, and resources to support projects or initiatives; collaborating cross-functionally to solve business problems; identifying, recommending, and implementing ways to address improvement opportunities
- Work closely with internal and external partners to evaluate and integrate new tools, techniques, and data sources that enhance the team s analytics capabilities.
- Foster strong cross-functional relationships, working collaboratively to drive alignment and understanding of analytics initiatives.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting, business or related field
- 8+ years experience in finance or analytical role
- 2+ Years of Managerial experience in Retail Domain, leading an Analytics team
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally
- Prior FP&A experience
- Proficient with Excel, SQL, PowerBI
- Experience with financial forecasting or analytic modeling
- Proficient with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, TM1, Hyperion/Essbase, Business Objects, Cognos, Teradata, etc.)
