Engineering Manager Technical Lead -React.JS

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a team of talented engineers while overseeing and optimizing our product technology initiatives and stack. The ideal candidate will be motivated and proactive with a strong technical background; experience building and leading engineering teams; proven leadership, management, and communication skills; and a track record of delivering high-quality software.

Responsibilities
• Lead a team of engineers to deliver initiatives for a modern ecommerce experience.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Product, Engineering and Data science teams to align on business and technical requirements and drive cross functional initiatives.
• Socialize and drive end-to-end development schedules and own the delivery of initiatives
• Deep dive into technical challenges related to scale, resiliency and operational efficiency.
• Drive production releases implementing proper branching strategies, QA handoff, Release Runbooks and seamless production deployments.
• Minimize production outages and severity issues with proactive collaboration and monitoring.
• Actively participate and drive production outage resolution.
• Collaborate and contribute towards a culture of innovation, excellence, pushing for adoption of good engineering practices, managing waste and technical debt to a minimum.
• Recruit, mentor and retain high-performing engineers.

Required Skills
• 10+ years of experience with at least 5 years of leading teams as an engineering manager.
• Well versed with leading distributed team members
• Strong ecommerce development experience, preferably with new stack Typescript, GraphQL, Serverless, Nextjs
• Ability to work with abstract concepts and requirements, adept at analysis to take abstract concept through design and implementation.
• Good understanding of browsers, CDNs, CSS, JavaScript, static vs dynamic content, media assets and their impact on Page/Site performance and SEO.
• Proven ability to articulate ideas, communicate plans and status to align and minimize information asymmetry.
• Ability to guide team to break complex things into small and simpler building blocks to ensure continuous delivery.
• Well versed with Agile, CI/CD, devops, automation to build low touch systems.
• Experience with managing team/initiatives with metrics to measure velocity, completeness and manage risk.
