Job Description
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library, including cataloging, shelving, and organizing books and materials.
- Promote a love for reading and literacy through various programs, activities, and events.
- Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support classroom learning.
- Conduct regular library sessions and reading programs for students.
- Assist students and teachers in locating and using library resources effectively.
- Maintain an up-to-date and diverse collection of books and educational materials.
- Foster a positive and inclusive library environment that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.
- Implement and enforce library policies and procedures.
- Stay informed about current trends in childrens literature and library services.
- Plan and host book fairs, reading challenges, and other literacy events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field.
- Experience working in a library, preferably in a school setting.
- Knowledge of childrens literature and educational resources.
- Strong organizational and cataloging skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and engage young readers.
- Familiarity with library management software and technology.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
