NACE - Materials & Corrosion Lead Engineer

Responsibilities

Develop and implement corrosion management strategies to mitigate corrosion in pipelines, tanks, and equipment.

• Evaluate and select materials suitable for corrosive environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Investigate corrosion failures, analyze failure data, and identify root causes to recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment to assess corrosion levels and monitor the effectiveness of protective measures.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines and maintenance teams to integrate corrosion management into project planning and execution.
• Maintain detailed records of corrosion assessments and inspections, providing reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
• Stay updated on the latest corrosion technologies and methodologies, contributing to the development of innovative corrosion solutions.

Requirements

■ Must Have

• Bachelors degree in materials science, chemical engineering, or mechanical engineering.
• Human resources capable of conducting corrosion inspections, mainly of static equipment, and evaluating the remaining lifespan of equipment
• Certification - NACE
• Previous experience in corrosion engineering within the oil and gas sector.
• Professional certifications related to corrosion engineering are preferred.
• Proficiency in corrosion assessment techniques and materials testing, along with knowledge of failure analysis methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills to identify corrosion issues and develop effective solutions.
