Syren Technologies - Lead Data Engineer - Data Pipelines & Warehousing (5-6 yrs)

About the Role :

As a Lead Data Engineer at Syren, you will play a critical role in driving our data initiatives. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of complex data pipelines and solutions, while mentoring and guiding junior team members.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and contribute to the ongoing growth of our data engineering capabilities.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of data pipelines and data warehousing solutions.

- Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and loading pipelines using various tools and technologies.

- Design and implement data quality checks and data governance frameworks.

- Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations.

- Deep expertise in cloud platforms like Azure, including data services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics.

- Experience with cloud-native technologies and serverless computing.

- Lead and mentor junior data engineers, providing guidance and support on technical and professional development.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data analysts, and software engineers.

- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

- Participate in all phases of the project lifecycle, from requirements gathering to implementation, testing, and deployment.

- Ensure timely and successful project delivery within budget and scope.

- Monitor project progress, identify and resolve roadblocks, and mitigate risks.

- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data engineering technologies and best practices.

- Explore and evaluate new technologies and tools to improve data engineering processes.

- Contribute to the development of innovative data solutions that address client needs.

- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years of experience with cloud platforms (specifically Azure).

- Strong programming skills in languages like Python, Java, or Scala.

- Experience with data warehousing and ETL/ELT processes.

- Experience with data ingestion, transformation, and loading tools.

- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
