Server / MECM Administrator

Responsibilities

• Administer and manage MECM environments, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Configure and manage (CMG) for seamless remote client management.
• Monitor MECM health status and resolve operational issues proactively.
• Design, implemenxt, and manage application packaging and deployment processes.
• Configure and maintain Hybrid Active Directory environments.
• Ensure proper synchronization between on-premises AD and Azure AD using Azure AD Connect.

Patch Management:

• Plan, schedule, and execute OS and third-party patching through MECM.
• Develop compliance reports for patch deployment and remediate non-compliance issues.
• Test patches in staging environments to ensure minimal disruptions during production deployments.

Server Management:

• Maintain Windows Server infrastructure, including installation, updates, and performance tuning.
• Troubleshoot server issues, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.
• Manage GPOs in hybrid environments for consistent security and configuration enforcement.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Create detailed reports on application deployments, patch compliance, and infrastructure health.
• Maintain updated technical documentation and knowledge base articles for troubleshooting and configuration.
• Provide Level 3 support for escalated MECM and server-related incidents.

Server Administration:

• Manage and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments, ensuring availability, security, and performance.
• Implement and maintain server configurations, patch management, and system updates.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related server issues.

Enterprise Backup Management:

• Oversee enterprise backup solutions, ensuring scheduled backups are successful and compliant with data retention policies.
• Administer and troubleshoot backup solutions such as Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, or Commvault.
• Perform disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure business continuity.

NAS Operations:

• Manage Network Attached Storage (NAS) systems, ensuring proper integration with enterprise infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot NAS performance issues and maintain storage capacity.

Security Operations (SOC):

• Collaborate with SOC teams to monitor and respond to security events.
• Implement security best practices in backup and storage operations.
• Assist in vulnerability assessments and provide input on security incidents related to servers and backups.

Documentation and Compliance:

• Maintain detailed documentation of backup and recovery processes, configurations, and policies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, including GDPR, ISO 27001, or similar frameworks.

Team Collaboration:

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior administrators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to align server and backup operations with organizational goals.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Server/MECM administration.
• Demonstrated proficiency in patch management and application deployment using MECM.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server (2016, 2019, or 2022) administration.
• PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Knowledge of Intune for co-management scenarios.
• Familiarity with SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) for MECM report customization.
• Expertise in enterprise backup tools like Veeam, Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, or similar solutions.
• Proficiency in Hyper-V virtualization and related backup operations.
• Experience with NAS technologies (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC Isilon).
• Understanding of SOC operations, including incident response and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policies, and DNS/DHCP services.
