Job Description

PURPOSE & IMPACT ON ORGANIZATION:

The Export Business Development Manager will play a critical role in expanding the companys international presence. This role is focused on developing and implementing export marketing strategies, generating sales, and fostering strong relationships with international clients and stakeholders. By achieving sales and revenue targets, the Export Business Development Manager will directly contribute to the companys global growth, ensuring effective market penetration and long-term business sustainability.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Export Marketing Strategy Development:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive export marketing strategies to penetrate new international markets and expand in existing ones.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of global market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify key business opportunities.
  • Tailor marketing approaches for specific regions, considering local preferences, market conditions, and cultural nuances.

2. Sales and Revenue Generation:

  • Drive export sales by identifying, prospecting, and securing new clients, distributors, and strategic partners across targeted international regions.
  • Lead negotiations with international clients, addressing pricing, contract terms, and ensuring the maximization of sales revenue.
  • Achieve and exceed annual export sales targets and KPIs related to client acquisition, revenue growth, and profitability.

3. Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and sustain strong, long-term relationships with existing and potential international clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty to the brand.
  • Address customer inquiries, complaints, and issues promptly to ensure positive client experiences and resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Engage in regular follow-ups and account management to increase customer retention and explore new opportunities for growth.

4. Market Research and Analysis:

  • Perform in-depth market research to understand the regulatory landscape, competitor positioning, pricing models, and customer demands in target export markets.
  • Identify key factors such as market potential, entry barriers, and preferred product offerings to inform market entry strategies.
  • Develop actionable plans to enhance market share and optimize brand positioning in various international markets.

5. Coordination and Communication:

  • Collaborate with internal teams including production, supply chain, logistics, and quality assurance to ensure the seamless fulfillment of export orders.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders like customs agents, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to navigate the complexities of international trade and logistics.
  • Ensure alignment across departments to streamline communication and processes related to export activities.

6. Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure all export activities comply with international trade regulations, local laws, and industry standards.
  • Prepare and review all necessary export documentation, including but not limited to invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin, export licenses, and any other required export certificates.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in export laws, tariffs, and customs requirements for relevant international markets.

7. Reporting and Analysis:

  • Monitor, track, and report on export performance, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer satisfaction, lead conversion rates, and overall revenue growth.
  • Prepare detailed reports on export sales activities, market trends, and potential areas for improvement.
  • Provide insights to the management team on performance metrics and recommend strategies for continuous process improvements and sales optimization.
