Plc Programming Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Develop and Program PLC Systems: Write and modify PLC programs to control automated machinery and equipment using various programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram).

• System Commissioning: Install, test, and commission PLC systems in the field to ensure they meet design specifications and perform as intended.

• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with PLC systems, including hardware malfunctions, software errors, and communication failures.

• Electrical and Control System Design: Collaborate with the engineering team to design electrical schematics, control panels, and wiring diagrams for automated systems.

• Maintenance and Upgrades: Perform regular maintenance on PLC systems and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve system performance and reliability.

• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of PLC programs, system configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all PLC programming and control systems comply with industry standards and safety regulations.

• Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to maintenance staff and operators on PLC systems and automation equipment.

• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation processes and reduce downtime.

Preferred candidate profile :

• Education: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineer.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in PLC programming and automation in an industrial environment.
• Proficiency in PLC programming languages (e.g. Ladder Logic, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram).
• Experience with major PLC brands such as Delta, Siemens, Mitsubishi, etc.
• Knowledge of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) design and integration.
• Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and instrumentation.

• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in PLC programming or industrial automation (preferred).
• Travel: Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed for installation and support.
