Mechanical Design Manager

Qualification required : Graduate/ Masters (Civil , Mechanical, Materials Science, or relevant field

Product Knowledge:

• Provide expert knowledge on the residual life and fatigue
• behaviours of materials used in military bridging systems.
• Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and technological
• advancements in Military bridges including, Dry support, Pontoon, Scissor & other Bridges
• Assist in the development and testing of new products to ensure they meet military standards and requirements.
• Offer technical support and training to internal teams

Technical Expertise:

• Conceptual Design: Develop and refine bridge designs in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and
• Requests for Information (RFIs).
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA): Perform FEA to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of bridge components
• Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics: Analyze the fatigue and fracture mechanics of materials to ensure durability and reliability
• Structural Mechanics: Apply principles of structural mechanics to optimize bridge designs
• Connections: Design and evaluate welded, riveted, and bolted connections for structural components.
• Material Knowledge: Utilize high strength steel and Aluminium, Composite materials in bridge designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards Design Codes: Ensure designs adhere to Trilateral, Euro Code, and International design codes
• Life Estimation: Conduct comprehensive life estimation analyses of military bridging systems (Steel, Aluminium and Composites) to determine operational lifespan and reliability under various conditions Residual
• Life Assessment: Perform residual life assessments to evaluate the remaining lifespan of existing military bridging assets, ensuring they meet safety and performance standards
• Develop Smart Health monitoring system: IOT based life prediction based on actual application of loads and cycles
• Study of Technical inputs received from Customer
• Design and Engineering of Mechanical & Hydraulics systems
• Knowledge of handling large assemblies / Systems
• Knowledge of FEA
• Preparation of Design Report (CDR, PDR, DDR etc.)
• Software proficiency required in UG NX, SolidWorks/NX, Ansys etc.
• Detailed designing of Mechanical & Hydraulic Systems for serial production orders
• Document revision control and change management
• Fault analysis and implementation of corrective measures
• Reliability and maintainability analysis
• Configuration Management of products & systems
• Obsolescence management of Mechanical & Hydraulic components
