About Team:
We are a high performance advanced predictive and generative AI team, operating out of Bangalore and Mumbai.
The team is comprised of intelligent and enthusiastic data scientists and ML engineers with a proven track record.
We are focused on bringing cutting edge AI technologies to sharpen and grow the lending businesses of L&T Finance.
Role Overview:
- The Lead PMO is a critical leadership role responsible for the successful delivery of advanced analytics and AI/ML projects within our Fintech@Scale NBFC organization.
- Reporting to the Chief AI & Data Officer, this individual will lead a team of project managers, manage the department's budget, and develop compelling presentations for the C-suite and Board of Directors.
- This role requires a blend of strong project management expertise, budget management, team leadership, vendor management skills, and a proven ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and impactful presentations.
Responsibilities:
Strategic PMO Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive PMO strategy, defining best-in-class project management methodologies, standards, and tools for the Chief AI & Data Officer department.
- Oversee the consistent application of these methodologies across all projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Develop and manage the annual department budget, forecasting resource needs and tracking expenditures against allocated funds.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of project managers, providing regular guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Project Portfolio Management:
- Proactively identify and mitigate program/project risks and issues, escalating concerns to senior management as needed.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communications, providing regular updates and reporting on project progress, budget, and risks.
- Define project scope, tasks, and deliverables, utilizing project management tools such as Jira.
Executive Communication & Presentation Development:
- Develop and deliver high-impact presentations for the C-suite, BFSI Industry and Board of Directors, effectively communicating project status, results, and strategic recommendations.
- This includes the ability to create compelling presentations under tight deadlines.
- Translate complex technical information into easily understandable narratives for non-technical audiences.
- Ensure presentations are visually appealing, data-driven, and aligned with executive communication best practices.
Vendor & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring timely deliverables, adherence to quality standards, and effective communication.
- Foster collaboration and effective communication amongst cross-functional teams, including engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders.
Team Engagement & Development:
- Organize and facilitate team-building events such as hackathons, town halls, meetups, and offsites to foster collaboration and enhance team morale.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and best practice implementation within the PMO.
Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
- 7-11 years of experience leading and managing a PMO in a technology-focused environment, with a minimum of 5 years managing a team of at least 5 project managers within a department of 150+ members.
- Proven experience developing and delivering compelling presentations to executive-level audiences.
- PMP certification and Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner) are highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in agile methodologies and project management tools, including Jira
