Quality Head

Role & responsibilities

The Quality Head will oversee and manage the quality control systems and processes in the automobile manufacturing unit, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements. The role requires in-depth knowledge of various measurement instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Height Gauges, Screw Gauges, Micrometers, and other critical quality control instruments. Additionally, the role includes ensuring proper documentation of quality standards and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the quality assurance team to monitor and ensure product quality throughout the manufacturing process
• Implement and maintain quality control processes, including product inspections, testing, and audits.
• Utilize various measurement instruments (Vernier Calipers, Height Gauges, Screw Gauges, Micrometers) to perform accurate and precise measurements.
• Develop and enforce quality standards and guidelines across production lines to meet internal and external specifications.
• Ensure all quality documentation (e.g., inspection reports, certification, test results) is compliant with industry standards.
• Collaborate with other departments (Production, Engineering, Procurement) to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain knowledge of international quality standards (ISO, IATF 16949, etc.) and ensure compliance.
• Conduct root cause analysis of quality defects and lead corrective/preventive actions.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members on quality practices, tools, and instrumentation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing) to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
• Handle customer quality complaints and provide solutions promptly.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automobile, or related field).
• Experience: 10 years in Quality Assurance/Quality Control in the automobile or automotive manufacturing industry.
• Instrumentation Knowledge: Sound knowledge of various measuring instruments like Vernier Calipers,
  Height Gauges, Screw Gauges, Micrometers, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), and other precision measurement tools.
• Documentation Standards: Proficiency in maintaining and reviewing quality documentation, including but not limited to inspection reports, test results, certification, and compliance reports.
• Quality Standards: Extensive knowledge of international quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and other industry-specific certifications.
• Should be able to check the quality of products as per the giving Designs. And Documentation .Should have experience in Automobile Industry
