Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchase Manager to oversee and manage procurement operations within the food industry. The ideal candidate will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality food products, raw materials, and packaging supplies while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and adhering to food safety standards.

Requirements Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management:

Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet organizational goals.

Identify and evaluate suppliers for quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors.

Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination:

Maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Collaborate with production and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of goods.

Monitor stock levels and plan for seasonal demand fluctuations.

Quality Assurance:

Ensure procured products comply with quality and food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, FSSAI, FDA).

Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with hygiene and regulatory standards.

Budget and Cost Control:

Develop and manage the procurement budget to achieve cost efficiency.

Monitor market trends to secure competitive pricing and forecast cost changes.

Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.

Vendor Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers.

Regularly evaluate vendor performance based on key metrics like quality, delivery timelines, and pricing.

Sustainability and Compliance:

Promote sustainable sourcing practices to align with organizational goals.

Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and ethical procurement standards.

Reporting and Documentation:

Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.

Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and inventory levels.

Benefits

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Purchase Manager, preferably in the food industry.
