Job Description
Data Curator & Quality Analyst (Computer Vision/ Video Analytics)

A Computer Vision Data Curator is a specialized role responsible for managing and curating datasets used in computer vision projects. They play a crucial role in ensuring that the data used for training and validating computer vision models is diverse, representative, and of high quality. The primary focus of a data curator is to prepare and maintain datasets that enable accurate and efficient training of computer vision algorithms.
Responsibilities Dataset Collection and Acquisition: Identify and acquire relevant datasets from various sources, including publicly available datasets, third-party data providers, and in-house data repositories. Data Preprocessing: Clean and preprocess raw data to remove noise, irrelevant information, or any inconsistencies that might negatively impact model training.
Data Annotation Management: Collaborate with data annotation specialists to define annotation guidelines and ensure consistent and accurate labeling of images or videos with the necessary annotations such as bounding boxes, segmentation masks, keypoints, or other relevant labels.
Dataset Curation: Curate datasets to ensure that they represent the target use cases and cover thenecessary variations, challenges, and scenarios that the computer vision model is expected to encounter in real-world situations.
Data Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous quality checks to identify and rectify any errors or inaccuracies in the labeled data. This involves verifying the accuracy of annotations and identifying and addressing potential biases.
Data Versioning and Tracking: Maintain proper version control of datasets, tracking changes, updates, and different iterations to ensure reproducibility and traceability of experiments.
Data Augmentation: Work with data augmentation specialists to apply data augmentation techniques that can artificially increase the diversity of the dataset and improve the model s generalization capabilities.
Collaboration with Computer Vision Team: Collaborate closely with computer vision researchers,engineers, and data scientists to understand project requirements and provide them with the necessary curated datasets.
Qualifications - Good knowledge of computer vision concepts, datasets, and challenges.
- Proficiency in data management, preprocessing, and data curation techniques. Experiencewith data annotation and understanding of annotation tools and formats.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of data versioning tools and platforms is a plus.
