Cyber Security Specialist

• Design, develop, and maintain the security posture of enterprise-level applications.
• Work with tools including threat modeling, compliance, test automation, and vulnerability technologies.
• Conduct security risk assessments, gap analyses, and remediation plan development.
• Manage security vulnerabilities and risks across applications, supporting application/system owners in risk management and vulnerability remediation.
• Develop and support privacy and security training and awareness initiatives.
• Prepare business cases for control and compliance program implementation.
• Support data security/privacy-related proposal text and RFP response formulation.
• Coach and mentor teams on security tools, secure design, coding, and testing initiatives.
• Manage the design, development, and operations of security technologies for information security functions.
• Interpret privacy and security regulatory guidelines and guide implementation.

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or STEM Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).

Required Skills:

• 9+ years of experience in development and security, including application security and vulnerability assessments.
• Security certifications like OSCP/CCSP/CISSP.
• Experience with security tooling and scans such as NESSUS, STIGs.
• Strong understanding of cryptography, encryption algorithms, PKI, and CA.
• Hands-on experience with static code analysis and penetration testing.
• Expertise in containers, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps practices.

Desired Skills:

• Experience in the healthcare domain, regulatory needs like HIPAA, GDPR.
• Knowledge of DOD, VA practices and processes.
• Excellent communication skills and Unix/Linux programming experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Angular, C++ (Optional).
