Server Administrator - Windows/Linux Server (4-8 yrs)

Job Description :

- Good understanding of System architecture, best practices, components and concepts and ability to manage a large size computing solution

- Have good understanding and hands on implementation, day-to-day management and troubleshooting experience in the areas of :

1. Windows Servers

2. Linux Servers

3. Understanding of hardware aspects of Rack / Blade Servers / Storage

4. Exposure to 1 or more different types of storage systems would be a plus

5. VMWare experience in terms on installation, configuration, day to management, troubleshooting of the virtualization setup

6. Understanding of VLAN's, Tagging and basic network requirements etc

7. Building and managing HA solutions or clusters on servers, databases, hypervisors

8. Hardening of all servers, storage and related devices as per a continuously evolving baseline

9. Patch Management

10. Anti-Virus deployment and management

11. Understanding of Backup Solutions and technologies

12. Understanding of E-Mail Solutions and technologies

13. Co-ordinate and work with 3rd party vendors for deploying any applications / other solutions that may be required in accordance with best practices and policies in a secure way

14. Understanding of one or more databases, web server technologies, application servers would be a plus

15. Capital Markets or BFSI experience would be a plus

Skills :

- Good understanding and adherence to SLA's

- Good understanding of one or more monitoring and management solutions

- Define parameters, thresholds that need to be monitored and alerting levels and mechanisms

- Create daily checklists covering all the daily process

- Should be good in communication and co-ordination - preferably multi-lingual

- Should be sensitive to requirements and prioritize and address / escalate issues clearly and well in time
