We are looking for an experienced OBD HiL Test Engineer to join our team in Bangalore.
The role involves On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) testing, HiL validation, and test automation for automotive ECU systems.
The candidate should have expertise in Vtest Studio, Vector tools, CAN protocols, and test scripting.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Perform HiL testing and validation for OBD systems.
- Develop and implement test scripts for test automation using Vtest Studio.
- Work with Vector tools such as CANoe, CANape, CANDela Studio, Vtest Studio.
- Conduct regression testing on new software releases and report defects.
- Set up and manage HiL test benches, including VT System validation.
- Develop test cases, test plans, checklists, and execute tests based on requirements.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and identify root causes.
- Ensure compliance with OBD II testing and validation standards.
- Work with automotive communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, LIN, UDS.
- Collaborate with ECU hardware, sensors, and software teams to ensure test accuracy.
- Provide technical documentation and test reports.
- Participate in test closure activities and ensure proper defect reporting.
- Stay updated with the latest automotive testing methodologies and tools.
Skills and Qualifications Required :
Technical Skills :
- 6 to 9 years of experience in HiL testing and OBD validation.
- Strong programming and scripting knowledge in CAPL (Vector).
- Hands-on experience with Vector tools (CANoe, CANape, CANDela Studio, Vtest Studio).
- Proficiency in Vtest Studio for test automation.
- Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, LIN, UDS).
- Basic knowledge of OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) and ECU testing.
- Experience with HiL test bench validation (VT System).
- Ability to analyze requirements, develop test cases, and execute test plans.
- Hands-on experience in test development, automation, and debugging.
- Awareness of the automotive project life cycle.
Soft Skills :
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with a technical mindset.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related field.
- Prior experience in OBD2 testing and validation.
- Exposure to DiagRa and other automotive testing tools
