Android Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Android Developer with at least 2 years of experience to join our dynamic mobile development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Android development principles, coding best practices, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality Android applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Mobile App Development: Design, develop, and maintain Android applications for smartphones and tablets, ensuring high performance, quality, and responsiveness.
• Collaboration: Work closely with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers to deliver user-friendly mobile applications.
• Code Optimization: Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to Android development standards and best practices.
• Debugging and Testing: Troubleshoot and fix bugs, performance issues, and other technical challenges. Participate in code reviews and maintain high standards for quality and reliability.
• API Integration: Integrate third-party APIs and back-end services to improve app functionality and performance.
• Version Control: Use version control tools like Git to collaborate with the team on versioning and updates.
• App Deployment: Assist in preparing apps for release to the Play Store, ensuring they meet all platform requirements and guidelines.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices for Android development. Suggest and implement improvements to existing applications and processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience: 2+ years of experience in Android development with a strong portfolio of Android applications.
• Proficiency in Kotlin & Java: Solid understanding of Kotlin and Java programming languages, with experience building Android applications in these languages.
• Android SDK & APIs: Familiarity with Android SDK, libraries, and APIs (e.g., Firebase, Google Maps API, RESTful APIs).
• UI/UX Design: Experience in implementing UI designs and layouts using XML and understanding Android UI design principles.
• Database Management: Experience with SQLite, Room, or similar local storage options for data persistence in Android apps.
• Version Control: Familiar with Git and collaborative version control systems.
• Performance Optimization: Ability to analyze app performance and optimize for speed and efficiency, including memory management and battery consumption.
• Testing: Experience with unit testing frameworks (JUnit, Espresso, etc.) and debugging tools to ensure high-quality app performance.
• Familiarity with App Publishing: Knowledge of Google Play Store guidelines, app submission, and handling updates and releases.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Android Jetpack libraries (e.g., LiveData, ViewModel, Navigation, WorkManager).
• Familiarity with other mobile platforms (e.g., iOS) and cross-platform development tools (e.g., Flutter, React Native).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes for Android development.
• Knowledge of cloud services such as Firebase, AWS, or similar.
