Job Description

The Sales and Application Engineer will combine technical knowledge of machinery products with strong sales skills to support new business development and the ongoing success of client projects. This role involves understanding customer requirements, providing technical support, preparing quotes, and offering solutions that match their needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machinery engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong customer relationships while driving sales growth.


Role & responsibilities


Sales Support & Business Development:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth for machinery products across multiple industries, including automotive, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and steel manufacturing.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, manage and grow relationships with existing clients, and act as a technical consultant for customers considering new machinery investments.
  • Provide technical presentations, product demonstrations, and sales proposals to customers, explaining product features, benefits, and technical specifications.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, providing accurate product information and tailored solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to identify and target new markets, product applications, and customer segments.

Application Engineering & Technical Support:

  • Work closely with customers to understand their specific machinery requirements and application needs, helping them select the most appropriate machinery solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and support throughout the sales process, ensuring accurate quotations, proposals, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team to ensure that customizations, modifications, or configurations meet client specifications.
  • Assist customers with the technical aspects of equipment installation, troubleshooting, and operational support.
  • Provide training to customers on equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, as needed.

Project Management & Coordination:

  • Ensure smooth communication between sales, engineering, and production teams to facilitate project execution and timely delivery.
  • Manage technical aspects of customer projects from initial contact through to the final installation, ensuring all customer specifications are met.
  • Prepare detailed documentation, including technical reports, drawings, and specifications, for customer projects.

Customer Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their main point of contact for technical queries, product support, and post-sales services.
  • Proactively follow up with customers after the sale to ensure satisfaction, address any issues, and identify opportunities for additional sales or upgrades.
  • Participate in trade shows, conferences, and other industry events to promote Kinemach products and build a network of potential clients.

Market and Product Knowledge:

  • Stay current with industry trends, customer needs, and competitor products to ensure Kinemach offers competitive and innovative solutions.
  • Assist in product development by providing feedback from customers on their requirements and experiences.
  • Prepare technical content, such as case studies, brochures, and other marketing materials, in collaboration with the marketing team.

Preferred candidate profile


Education:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. A Masters degree or specialized certifications in sales or technical applications is a plus.


Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in sales engineering or application engineering, preferably in machinery manufacturing or a related technical field.
  • Experience in selling complex technical products or systems to industrial customers in sectors such as automotive, food processing, or steel manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or automation systems used in industrial machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and customer satisfaction in a technical environment.

Skills:

  • Excellent technical and product knowledge, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to non-technical customers.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships with clients.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, including engineering, production, and sales, to deliver optimal solutions to customers.
  • Good problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering tailored, efficient, and cost-effective solutions to customer challenges.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to effectively engage with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), MS Office, and other relevant tools for tracking sales and customer interactions.

  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits, trade shows, and project sites as required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
