Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management:
Lead and supervise hospital operations to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
Manage hospital staff, ensuring adequate staffing levels and optimal performance.
Coordinate with department heads to implement hospital policies and procedures.
Provide guidance on operational challenges, and develop action plans to improve performance.
Strategic Planning & Policy Development:
Develop, implement, and monitor the hospitals strategic goals and objectives.
Formulate policies and procedures in line with healthcare regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
Prepare and maintain the hospitals annual budget, ensuring proper resource allocation.
Lead planning efforts for the introduction of new services, technologies, and operational improvements.
Financial Management:
Oversee financial operations including budgeting, accounting, and reporting.
Monitor hospital expenditures and revenues, ensuring financial stability.
Review and approve financial reports, identifying and addressing discrepancies.
Work with the finance team to ensure billing and coding are done accurately, maintaining compliance with billing regulations.
Compliance & Accreditation:
Ensure hospital compliance with all local, state, and federal healthcare regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA, Joint Commission).
Oversee efforts to maintain or achieve accreditation by national health organizations.
Develop and manage risk management plans, ensuring patient safety and minimizing liability.
Patient Care & Service Quality:
Ensure patient satisfaction through the continuous improvement of services and care quality.
Address patient complaints and concerns, working to resolve issues promptly.
Promote a patient-centered culture throughout the hospital.
Human Resources & Staff Development:
Oversee recruitment, retention, and professional development of hospital staff.
Foster a positive work environment and address employee concerns.
Ensure staff receive adequate training in medical, ethical, and regulatory standards.
External Relations & Community Outreach:
Build and maintain relationships with external organizations, such as government agencies, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
Represent the hospital in public relations and community outreach efforts, promoting services and fostering goodwill.
