Primary Teacher

Direct reporting: Head of Department / Academic Managers

Position Summary:

• The teacher will play a pivotal role in shaping the student's future, the department, and the school.
• This position requires a unique combination of qualities, serving as a mentor, trainer, guide, and expert in pedagogy, content, and assessment design.
• The successful candidate will support the Head of the Department and the leadership team of the school in developing and implementing innovative approaches to education, driving student engagement, and achieving academic excellence.

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

A. As a Pedagogy, Content and Assessment Expert:

• Champion best practices in teaching methodologies, differentiated instruction, and student-centred learning.
• Stay updated on the latest pedagogical research and implement evidence-based strategies.
• Promote a student-centric approach that caters to individual learning needs.
• Evaluate and adjust teaching methods to meet the evolving educational landscape.
• Oversee the creation and review of high-quality course materials and educational content.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design meaningful assessments, exams, and evaluations.
• Ensure assessments align with learning objectives and promote critical thinking and creativity.
• Review, modify, and improve curriculum content and assessments based on student performance and feedback.

B. As an Innovative Leader:

• Develop and implement cutting-edge teaching and learning practices.
• Spearheaded initiatives for digital learning, technology integration, and blended learning.
• Support the department in exploring innovative methods to make the subject engaging and effective.
• Collaborate with other colleagues to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities.

C. As a Mentor to students:

• Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues, fostering their professional growth.
• Support the department in the development and implementation of effective teaching strategies.
• Encourage a collaborative and inclusive teaching environment that promotes student success.
• Offer guidance on classroom management, student assessment, and classroom best practices.
• Promote continuous learning and professional development.

D. As a Trainer, Guide and Mentor:

• Organize and conduct workshops, seminars, and training sessions in collaboration with colleagues.
• Stay updated on the latest teaching methodologies, technologies, and pedagogical trends to guide inhouse training.
• Implement training programs that enhance educators' abilities to engage and inspire students.
• Foster a culture of innovation in teaching and learning.
• Develop the department's curriculum and ensure alignment with broad guidelines, the latest educational standards, and best practices.
• Guide in selecting appropriate textbooks, teaching materials, and resources.
• Help in curriculum design, course planning, and academic content.
• Guide colleagues in developing educational resources, unit & lesson plans, and teaching aids.
• Mentor students and colleagues for the Makerspace Laboratory for innovative projects.

Qualifications:

• Post-graduate in the subject with a Degree/Diploma in Education or pursuing.
• Experience in teaching or any related area of engagement will be given preference.
