General Duty Assignment (GDA) Fireman

Position: Fireman
Location: Palam Vihar, Gurugram
Employment Type: Full-time
Reporting To: Facility Manager

Job Summary:

The Fireman will be responsible for ensuring fire safety, responding to emergencies, conducting routine inspections, and maintaining firefighting equipment in a high-rise residential building. The role demands vigilance, quick response to fire incidents, and coordination with emergency services when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Fire Safety & Prevention:

• Conduct regular fire safety inspections in the building.
• Ensure all firefighting equipment (fire extinguishers, sprinklers, hose reels, hydrants, etc.) are functional and regularly serviced.
• Monitor and enforce fire safety protocols as per building regulations and fire codes.
• Conduct fire drills and training sessions for residents and staff.

Emergency Response:

• Act as the first responder to fire alarms and emergencies.
• Operate and maintain firefighting systems in case of a fire breakout.
• Assist in evacuation procedures and ensure residents' safety.
• Coordinate with local fire departments and emergency responders.

Equipment Maintenance:

• Inspect and maintain fire safety equipment and systems.
• Report any malfunction or requirement for repairs in a timely manner.
• Maintain logs and records of fire safety checks, drills, and incidents.

Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure adherence to fire safety regulations and building safety standards.
• Keep records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training sessions.
• Assist in preparing and updating fire safety plans for the building.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Certified Fireman with a recognized Fire Safety Training certification.
• Minimum of 03 years of experience in firefighting, fire safety, or a similar role.
• Knowledge of fire alarm systems, suppression systems, and first aid.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Physically fit with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Work Conditions:

• Shift-based duty, including weekends and holidays.
• Physically demanding role requiring the ability to lift heavy equipment.
• Exposure to hazardous conditions in emergency situations.
