Functional Safety Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Implementation of the requirements/ FSR/ TSR of the functional safety standard ISO 26262 and for the evidence that the safety goals have been achieved.
• Analyzes/defines the functional safety requirements within the project based on the customer requirements. Understands/analyzes the requirements from the end user perspective while considering constraints and safety standards as the main objective
• Specifies safety requirements and safety concepts for system/components
• Judge if system design/architecture can fulfil requirements, considering hardware-software components, interfaces, functional and environmental dependencies, using basic understanding of computer/vehicle networks, hardware and software design
• Collaboration/ coordination with product and project managers, development team, test team and customers on Functional Safety.
• Audits, reviews with tech teams to ensure functional safety standards are being met throughout product development cycles.
• Support for development and validation of safety architectures and safety plans to ensure compliance with ISO26262.
• Leading to create of functional safety documentation according ISO26262.
• Experience in acting as functional safety manager for automotive components.
• Resourcefulness in rectifying problems and coordination with multiple teams for issue resolution corresponding to functional safety.
• Leads/performs safety analysis using standard deductive (FMEA, FMEDA...) and inductive (H&R, FTA) methods, the outcomes of these analyses will informed to the system design/architecture responsible
• Exposure on power electronics component for EV would be added advantage
• Tracks and documents necessary safety activities within a project as planned and establishes evidence of FuSa documents
• Should draft/ discuss DIA

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in Hazard Analysis Techniques for System Safety (e.g. FMEA,FTA) HW and SW
• Experience in Software Quality and process ( e.g., A­SPICE )
• Strong written, verbal communication and inter personal relationship skills
• Experience with embedded software development for safety critical automotive systems
• Experience of 3+ yrs of leading Fusa projects.
• Overall experience should be 15+ years in embedded system with safety critical applications in Automotive.
