What you'll do ?
This role is responsible for monitoring the collections of BC partners' and focusing on ensuring better collections efficiency. The ideal candidate should have hands on experience in unsecured lending collections, an understanding of the NBFC sector, with a proactive outlook and excellent leadership abilities.
1. Collections Strategy and Execution
- Develop and implement effective strategies to manage and reduce delinquencies in Unsecured Loan portfolios.
- Have a deep understanding of the end-to-end collections process and compliances and ensure BC partners branches are following the same and are in touch with the customers for timely recoveries.
- Sending legal notices / overdue notices / SMSs etc. to borrowers in coordination with Partner teams etc.
- Introduce and implement proactive measures / devise strategies to prevent / reduce default and improve collections efficiency across various stages of delinquency.
2. Partner Management and Performance Monitoring
- Supervise and manage third party collection agencies and field partners, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards as and were applicable.
- Track and evaluate partner performance through regular audits, reports, and field visits.
- Provide feedback and improvement plans to partner to optimize collections and reduce turnaround time.
3. Team Leadership and Management
- Review, train, and mentor partner field executives to achieve monthly collection targets.
- Help set KPIs and performance standards for BC partners and regularly monitor progress and address any performance gaps.
- Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to maintain a high-performance work culture.
4. Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with RBI and NBFC regulations in collections practices, including adherence to fair debt collection practices.
- Prepare regular reports on collections performance, delinquency metrics, and recovery rates for management review.
- Collaborate with Cross-functional teams like credit risk, legal, and customer service to resolve escalations and improve the overall collection process.
5. Process Improvement and Innovation
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance collections efficiency and reduce delinquency levels.
- Leverage technology and analytics to monitor collection trends, identify early warning signals, and drive data driven decisions.
Who you need to be ?
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- At least 4-7 years of experience in collections for unsecured lending, specifically in NBFCs or financial institutions handling Personal and Business Loans.
- Strong knowledge of collections processes, risk management, and compliance regulations for NBFCs in India.
- Excellent team leadership and partner management abilities.
- Proficient in data analysis, with an understanding of tools and metrics for collections performance.
- Ability to handle field activities, conduct partner visits, and manage escalations effectively.
- Should be willing to travel extensively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing teams, partners, and customers.
