Job Title: CBSE English Teacher (Grade 6 8th)

Job Summary:

The CBSE English Teacher for Secondary will be responsible for teaching English language and literature to students in classes 6 to 10. The role involves delivering engaging lessons, preparing students for board exams, assessing their progress, and fostering a passion for the English language.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Planning & Implementation:

• Develop and deliver lessons in accordance with the CBSE English curriculum.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans, considering the syllabus, student needs, and learning objectives.
• Incorporate both language (reading, writing, listening, speaking) and literature components into the lesson plans.

Classroom Teaching:

• Teach English language skills (grammar, writing, vocabulary, comprehension).
• Teach English literature, including prose, poetry, and plays, from the prescribed CBSE textbooks.
• Use various teaching methods like lectures, discussions, multimedia, group activities, etc., to engage students.

Student Assessment & Evaluation:

• Conduct regular formative assessments (quizzes, assignments, projects) to gauge student progress.
• Prepare students for board exams (Class 10/12) through mock tests, revisions, and exam techniques.
• Grade assignments, tests, and essays, providing constructive feedback to improve their performance.

Classroom Management:

• Create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behavior and discipline effectively.
• Foster student participation and engagement in lessons.

Extracurricular Activities:

• Encourage students to participate in activities like debates, speech contests, poetry readings, and other literary events.
• Assist with organizing English-related school events, such as literary fests or exhibitions.

Parent Communication:

• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding students progress, concerns, and achievements.
• Conduct parent-teacher meetings when necessary to discuss students’ academic performance and behavioral development.

Professional Development:

• Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and training sessions to stay updated on teaching strategies, educational trends, and changes in the CBSE curriculum.
• Participate in curriculum review and development, if applicable.

Maintaining Records:

• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
• Ensure timely submission of reports and grade sheets to the administration.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor's degree in English (B.A. in English) or related field.
• B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) preferred.
• Master’s degree in English (M.A. in English) is a plus.
• Experience:
• Prior experience teaching English at the Lower secondary level is desirable.
• Familiarity with the CBSE curriculum and examination pattern.
• Skills:
• Strong command of the English language (both spoken and written).
• Good understanding of grammar, literature, and pedagogy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
• Proficient in using technology and digital tools for education.
• Organizational skills to maintain student records and manage classroom activities.
