Role Overview:
- The Fleet Operations Manager - Drivers will oversee the operations of a driver fleet across various service categories, ensuring smooth service delivery, compliance, and cost efficiency.
- The role involves managing drivers, optimizing operational processes, and implementing strategies to maintain high-quality service delivery while meeting business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Driver Management:
- Recruit, onboard, and train drivers across different vehicle categories (hatchback, sedan, SUV, premium).
- Develop and manage driver schedules, shift rosters, and assignments to meet operational demand.
- Address driver grievances and ensure resolution in a timely and professional manner.
Operational Excellence:
- Define, build, and execute first-to-last-mile operational processes for drivers.
- Monitor real-time performance of drivers and implement measures to address operational bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with internal teams to implement technology solutions that enhance driver efficiency.
Fleet Operations Support:
- Ensure drivers are equipped with well-maintained vehicles and adhere to maintenance schedules.
- Oversee the availability of tools such as GPS trackers and technology apps for seamless operations.
- Enforce compliance with road safety standards, traffic regulations, and company policies.
Compliance and Cost Management:
- Ensure adherence to local transportation laws, vehicle insurance, and driver certification requirements.
- Monitor transportation budgets and implement cost-control measures without affecting service quality.
- Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with operational and safety protocols.
Customer Service and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Ensure drivers maintain professionalism and deliver a high level of customer service.
- Address client escalations related to driver performance and provide timely resolutions.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery.
Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Analyze driver performance data and identify areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior management.
- Contribute to strategic planning for scaling operations and improving service quality.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Degree in Logistics, Operations, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in fleet or driver management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in managing large teams of drivers across various vehicle categories.
- Strong understanding of driver tracking systems, GPS solutions, and operational software.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of local transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
