Senior Data Modeler - Azure SQL (8-10 yrs)

Key Responsibilities :

Reverse Data Modeling: Perform reverse data modeling in ER/Studio by extracting database schemas and creating comprehensive data models from existing databases.

Design & Maintain Data Models: Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models using ER/Studio, ensuring alignment with business requirements and organizational standards.

Metadata Management: Manage and maintain metadata within ER/Studio to ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of data assets.

Define Standards & Guidelines: Define and enforce naming conventions, standards, and guidelines for metadata and data models to ensure consistency and quality across all data assets.

Optimization & Performance: Develop and optimize entity relationships, data flows, and schema designs to meet performance and scalability requirements.

Schema Generation & Synchronization: Support schema generation and synchronization between data models and databases, ensuring seamless integration across platforms.

Data Governance Collaboration: Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.

Mentorship & Training: Provide training and mentorship to team members on ER/Studio best practices, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.

Troubleshooting & Optimization: Identify and resolve data modeling issues to enhance database performance and reliability.

Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed documentation for all data modeling activities, including data dictionaries, entity-relationship diagrams, and technical specifications.

Reporting to Stakeholders: Generate and distribute model-driven reports and diagrams to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Experience: 5+ years of experience in data modeling, database design, or data architecture.

ER/Studio Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience with the ER/Studio data modeling tool.

Database Knowledge: Proficiency with on-premises and cloud-based databases, such as Azure SQL, Azure Databricks, and Semarchy.

Data Modeling Knowledge: Strong understanding of data modeling principles and best practices.

Certifications: Certification in data architecture or data modeling is a plus.

Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to identify and resolve data modeling challenges effectively.

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to articulate complex data structures and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Documentation Skills: Ability to create clear, comprehensive documentation and reports for both technical and non-technical audience
