Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Underwriter to join our underwriting team. In this role, you will assist in evaluating insurance applications and determining risk levels, ensuring that our underwriting standards are met. - Application Review: Assist in reviewing insurance applications for completeness and accuracy.
- Risk Assessment: Evaluate risks associated with applications, analyzing data and using underwriting guidelines.
- Data Analysis: Compile and analyze relevant data, including financial statements, credit reports, and property information.
- Communication: Collaborate with underwriters and agents to gather additional information and clarify application details.
- Decision Support: Support senior underwriters in making informed decisions by providing thorough analyses and recommendations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of underwriting processes and decisions.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the underwriting process.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends, underwriting practices, and company products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor\u2019s degree in finance, business, insurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Prior experience in insurance, finance, or a related field is a plus but not required.
