Purchase Manager - Jungle Camps India

Jungle Camps India Ltd, a BSE listed SME company is seeking a passionate and experienced Purchase Manager to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our remote jungle lodges.

Job Summary:

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for overseeing all procurement activities for our lodges, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality goods and services. A key focus will be on sourcing sustainable, eco-friendly products and prioritizing local suppliers to support the regional economy.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's sustainability goals and operational needs.
• Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers, with a strong emphasis on local artisans, farmers, and eco-conscious businesses. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
• Sustainable Sourcing: Research and source sustainable and eco-friendly products, including but not limited to:
• Biodegradable and compostable packaging and disposables.
• Organic and locally sourced food and beverages.
• Eco-friendly cleaning supplies and toiletries.
• Sustainable materials for lodge maintenance and construction.
• Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing waste. Implement efficient inventory control systems.
• Cost Control: Monitor and control procurement costs, negotiate favorable terms, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all purchased goods and services meet quality standards and specifications.
• Logistics & Transportation: Coordinate logistics and transportation of goods to remote lodge locations, considering logistical challenges and environmental impact.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
• Community Engagement: Actively engage with local communities to identify potential suppliers and support local businesses.
• Reporting: Generate regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and sustainability initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with rural area/ communities and jungle lodges/ hotels.
• Knowledge of fair trade practices.
• Experience with developing and implementing sustainability policies.
