Business Development Head

Role & responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Business Development Head(BDH) is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with clients, and driving revenue growth in the digital signage industry. The BDH will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to understand market needs, develop effective strategies, and close deals. This role involves both lead generation and account management, requiring strong communication, sales, and negotiation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead Generation & Prospecting:
• Identify and target new business opportunities in the digital signage market, including retail, corporate, healthcare, education, and other sectors.
• Research and generate leads through various channels such as networking, cold calling, online research, and attending industry events or trade shows.
• Qualify leads to assess their needs and potential as clients for digital signage solutions.
2. Sales & Revenue Generation:
• Develop and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and pitches to prospective clients.
• Understand client needs and tailor digital signage solutions to meet their specific requirements.
• Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve sales targets and contribute to revenue growth.
• Upsell and cross-sell digital signage products and services to existing clients.
3. Client Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and long-term engagement.
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing any queries, issues, or concerns.
• Conduct regular follow-ups and meetings with clients to ensure ongoing satisfaction and identify further opportunities for collaboration.
4. Market Research & Strategy Development:
• Stay updated with industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities in the digital signage space.
• Gather insights from the market and feedback from clients to inform the development of sales strategies and product offerings.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns that target key markets and generate leads.
5. Reporting & Analysis:
• Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and revenue performance.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyse sales data to improve strategies and performance.
• Provide feedback to senior management on market trends, client needs, and opportunities for growth.

Key Skills:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong client relationships.
• Strong negotiation and sales closing abilities.
• Knowledge of digital signage technology and solutions is highly preferred.
• Ability to conduct market research and understand industry trends.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a strong drive for achieving targets.
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
• 2-4 years of experience in sales, business development, or a similar role, preferably in the digital signage or technology industry.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing client accounts.
• Familiarity with CRM software and sales analytics tools.

Work Environment:

• This role may involve both office work and travel to client locations for meetings and presentations.
• Collaboration with sales, marketing, and technical teams is essential.
• The BDE may need to attend industry events, trade shows, or conferences to network and generate leads.
