Role : Research & Product Application Engineering
Job Summary:
Seeking a skilled and results-driven professional with extensive experience in Design and Technical functions, specializing in the design and development of Bare Overhead Line Conductors, HTLS Conductors, OPGW, OPPC in overhead lines, and Railway Traction Conductors. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in designing and optimizing transmission and distribution conductor designs, meeting project requirements and industry standards. This role requires the ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with departments including Marketing, Project, Manufacturing, Procurement, QC/QA, Packaging, and Logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and assess project and tender requirements to ensure alignment with technical specifications and customer needs, with gap identification and mitigation plans.
2. Lead the design and calculation of power conductors, transmission lines, and OPGW cables using advanced software tools like PLS Cadd, PLS Tower, SAG-Tan, etc.
3. Perform detailed simulations, analysis, and design optimization to ensure product efficiency, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
4. Develop and specify Bill of Materials (BOM) and collaborate with the costing department for material estimations and cost analysis.
5. Ensure product designs adhere to national and international standards, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific technical specifications.
6. Identify potential design risks and implement mitigation strategies.
7. Represent the company in national and international industry seminars, conferences, and client meetings.
8. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate product designs with project deliverables and customer requirements.
9. Optimize product development, manufacturing processes, packaging, logistics, and testing for cost efficiency and productivity.
10. Oversee the planning, execution, and validation of product type testing with accredited international laboratories (CPRI, ERDA, KINECTRICS, SAG, VEIKI).
11. Drive the development of new, high-performance conductors, focusing on innovation, cost optimization, and sustainability.
12. Provide expert technical support during product promotions, client meetings, and customer visits.
13. Address technical queries, design solutions, and bid proposals with marketing teams and customers.
14. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive intelligence to identify new business opportunities.
15. Implement new technologies, automation, and digitalization strategies to enhance product performance and business efficiency.
16. Prepare comprehensive technical documentation (handbooks, SOPs, guidelines) for business excellence and knowledge sharing.
17. Build and nurture strong customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and business sustainability.
18. Train, coach, and develop the engineering team to foster professional growth and continuous improvement.
Accountability:
- Responsible for timely and high-quality task completion.

- Achieve R&D goals within budget and timeline.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on technical activities and challenges.
- Develop and motivate the R&D team while adhering to corporate policies.
Core Competencies:
- Leadership in cross-functional team management and innovation.
- Expertise in conductor design, sag-tension charts, and line design documents.
- Custom solutions for HTLS, OPGW cables, and thermal-resistant alloys (AL-1, AT-3, AL59, AlMgSi).
- Advanced conductor solutions (MVCC, HT-MVCC) with up to 144 fibers.
- Knowledge of IMS (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), SPC/SQC, Lean Six Sigma, PFMEA/DFMEA, and Advanced Excel.
- Customer-facing technical solutions and product recommendations.
- Experience with global labs and industry institutions (BIS, IEEMA, CACMAI, CEA, CTU, CII).
