Creature Modeller (VFX)

We are seeking an experienced and talented Creature Modeller to join our VFX department in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality, realistic creature models that meet the artistic and technical requirements of our projects. This role demands an immediate start, so were looking for someone who can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build highly detailed, anatomically accurate models of creatures, including organic and hard-surface elements, as required by the project.
• Collaborate closely with the rigging, texturing, and look-dev teams to ensure seamless handoffs and production efficiency.
• Interpret artistic briefs and concepts, ensuring models align with the creative vision and project guidelines.
• Incorporate feedback from supervisors and directors to refine models for optimal performance in animation and rendering pipelines.
• Maintain a strong understanding of the latest modelling tools and workflows, ensuring models are production-ready and meet technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot modelling issues and propose solutions to ensure deadlines are met without compromising quality.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Creature Modeller in a VFX studio environment, with a strong portfolio showcasing realistic creature models.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, and Houdini.
• Strong understanding of creature anatomy, topology, and the technical requirements for rigging and animation.
• Familiarity with texturing and UV mapping workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
• A proactive, problem-solving attitude and a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
