We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will work effectively as part of a global, distributed Agile team.

As part of the API team in VTS, you'll be a key contributor in building high quality solutions that provide their customers the ability to frictionlessly ingest and egress data at scale.

As a member of the API & Integrations team you will have a direct impact on the volume and quality of data ingested into the VTS platforms.

Since the users rely on high quality data to drive key business decisions, you will be key to VTS customers' success and therefore VTS' success.

Role Details :

This is a great opportunity for an experienced software engineer who is looking to take on a role as a senior individual contributor.

You will :

- Help design and build VTS' next-generation APIs that will seamlessly integrate into their customer's ecosystems.

- Ensure our data sets are complete, unique, timely, valid, accurate, consistent, and easy to consume.

- Work closely with engineers, product managers, designers, QA, and other business partners to discover and solve challenges for their customers.

- Collaborate with other full-stack teams to incrementally craft high quality products for their customers.

- Have organization-wide impact through your work, departmental initiatives like recruiting, being a mentor or onboarding buddy, etc.

- Work closely with team members & provide technical support as required.

- Work with scrum teams and complete assigned deliverables.

Requirements :

Technical and functional areas of expertise :

- Experience developing Javascript/Typescript-based applications.

- Familiarity with NodeJs, Express/Koa & React frameworks.

- Bring a holistic view to discussions around API design, looking at the impact and not just about delivering the functional needs.

- Have experience building APIs as a way to interact with, and decouple, complex systems.

- Values agile practices that allow frequent delivery of customer value (e.g scrum, Kanban).

- Demonstrable ability to learn new programming languages, frameworks and data analytics tools quickly.

- The ability to work in a highly collaborative environment.

- Strong troubleshooting skills.

Additional areas that would add value :

- Good understanding of Databases like Postgres and experience writing SQL Queries.

- Strongly values automated testing & implements good testing practices (e.g TDD).

- Have productized solutions in any cloud environment like Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

- Experience with any CI/CD workflows and tools (Jenkins, CircleCI, Teamcity, Drone, etc).

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc).

- Experience working as part of a distributed team across multiple time zones.

- Experience working in Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

Education and experience :

- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related fields.

- 5+ years of experience.
