Maintenance Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic professional with expertise in web offset printing, machinery maintenance, technical data analysis, and R&D. The candidate will oversee operations of web offset machines (like Orient, HM, Rockwell), manage maintenance staff, lead technical development efforts, and drive innovation to automate manual processes in our factory as required. This role requires a blend of hands-on technical skills, strategic planning, and innovative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Web Offset Printing Operations:

• Plan, supervise, and maintain web offset machines such as Orient, HM, and Rockwell to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor print quality and ensure adherence to production schedules and standards.
• Troubleshoot printing issues and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Provide training and guidance to machine operators to enhance operational efficiency and skill levels.

2. Maintenance Management:

• Oversee the maintenance of all printing and auxiliary machines, including web offset presses, binding, cutting, and packaging equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure consistent machine uptime.
• Supervise and guide the maintenance team, including currently employed personnel, to address technical issues efficiently.
• Maintain an inventory of critical spare parts and liaise with vendors for procurement.

3. Technical Data Analysis:

• Collect, analyse, and interpret machine performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Generate detailed reports on operational performance, maintenance history, and production output.
• Use data-driven insights to propose and implement time, space and cost optimisation strategies.

4. Research & Development (R&D):

• Conceptualise, design, and develop automated or semi-automated solutions for any of the manual processes, as per requirement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prototype and test innovative solutions that improve factory efficiency.
• Stay updated on the latest technological advancements in printing, automation, and manufacturing to integrate cutting-edge solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies for proposed automation projects and develop cost-benefit analyses.

5. General Responsibilities:

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards across all operations.
• Work closely with the production manager to align maintenance and R&D initiatives.
• Continuously evaluate and improve workflow processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, operational challenges, and proposed solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Printing Technology, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience operating and maintaining web offset machines.
• Proven track record in managing maintenance teams and schedules.
• Hands-on experience in data analysis and R&D for manufacturing/printing automation.
• Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of web offset printing processes and machinery.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial equipment.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
