Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Support: Provides comprehensive operational support for contract merchandise, including managing samples, coordinating Quality Assurance checks, handling documentation, facilitating communication between Supplier, Buyer, and Sourcing teams, and overseeing shipments and payments.
• Buyer/Sourcing & Design Visit Support: Assists in planning and executing Buyer/Sourcing and Design visits, including trip planning, scheduling supplier meetings, and providing necessary information to support the negotiation process.
• Time & Action Management: Supports the Time and Action calendar to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Cost Negotiation & Engineering: Assists in cost negotiation and explores cost engineering options with suppliers and mills.
• Production Monitoring: Monitors production quality and delivery performance to meet established standards.
• RMS System Support: Assists the MAT team with the RMS system, including updating ISU information and clarifying any discrepancies.
• Co-creation Process Support: Facilitates the co-creation process by monitoring communication between supplier and design teams, managing costing and Time & Action within budget and feasibility constraints.
• CCW Arrangement & Negotiation: Arranges required CCWs (likely Color Cards/Confirmations/etc.) and negotiates with suppliers.
• Sourcing Support: Provides sourcing support through contract process execution, maintaining up-to-date supplier profiles and market intelligence, and managing specific source maintenance and follow-up.
• Supplier Research & Development: Assists in identifying sourcing opportunities by conducting research on supplier history, capabilities, and maintaining supplier "account" information.

The Merchandiser plays a key role in supporting the sourcing and product development process, ensuring smooth communication and efficient execution from initial design to final delivery. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
