Tekla Modeller / Tekla Checker

Job Summary:

The Tekla Modeler & Checker is responsible for creating and reviewing accurate, detailed 3D models of structural by using Tekla Structures software. This role involves generating accurate drawings, coordinating with design and engineering teams, and ensuring all models meet quality and design standards. The Modeler & Checker will play a critical role in supporting project success by maintaining high standards in structural modeling, clash detection, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

3D Modelling with Tekla Structures:

• Develop detailed 3D models of structural, steel, and MEP components based on design specifications, engineering calculations, and project requirements.
• Ensure models adhere to project standards, codes, and specifications. Drawing Production and Documentation:
• Generate accurate fabrication, assembly, and general arrangement (GA) drawings from 3D models.
• Prepare bill of materials (BOM), quantity take-offs, and other essential documentation required for project execution.
• Ensure all drawings and documents are updated, organized, and accessible for project teams.
• Model Checking and Quality Control:
• Review and verify the accuracy, completeness, and quality of 3D models and drawings.
• Perform clash detection, resolve design conflicts, and ensure coordination between structural and MEP elements.
• Conduct thorough model checks for compliance with company standards, design intent, and client requirements.
• Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with engineers, architects, and other team members to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
• Communicate effectively to resolve design conflicts and propose efficient solutions.
• Participate in project meetings, contribute to problem-solving, and provide input for improving modeling standards and practices.

1. Continuous Improvement and Software Expertise:
• Stay updated with the latest Tekla Structures features, industry standards, and BIM practices.
• Provide support and guidance to junior modelers and drafters, sharing best practices and troubleshooting assistance.
• Proactively suggest improvements to modeling processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:7+ years of experience in Tekla modelling and checking, ideally in structural design projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Tekla Structures software for modeling and drafting.
• Familiarity with other BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of construction, fabrication, and assembly processes for structural systems.
• Other Skills:
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Problem-solving mindset and capability to work under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a multi-disciplinary environment involving coordination between structural, teams.
• Familiarity with building codes, industry standards, and project specifications.
• Certification in Tekla Structures or similar BIM software is an advantage.
