Project Engineer - Chennai

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The opportunity:

Project Engineer will be responsible for delivery of the program meeting all QCD parameters once business is awarded to ITW Automotive India. They will be representing ITW Automotive India in both Engineering as well commercials. They will be responsible for managing a team of Project trainees, achieving revenue targets, follow sales strategy, build customer relationship, achieve revenue & profitability targets & optimize market opportunities to enhance ITW Automotive India's market presence.

What your role would be:

• Interaction with ITW Engineering & APQP for Project feasibility & Project sheet sign off.
• Updating APQP documents related to projects / sales responsibility.
• Update RFQ sheet and present summary to Management every month first week.
• Conduct periodic project reviews and follow up with members for completion of action plan as per project timeline.
• Timely & successful development of tools, BOP, testing & assembly fixtures.
• Update customer on project status periodically and coordinating for line trials and validation.
• Support APQP team in product readiness at plant for builds and validation (technically & documentation).
• Maintain project cost tracker for every project and report the Gain / loss status every month to Management.
• Support in successful product launch meeting PQCDM targets.
• Support customer lines for trial & validations of new product / ECN implantation and track all open points for its proper closure.
• Update Simplicity (sales software for product / project planning) periodically and maintain it live.
• Support Purchase / SS team in VA/VE activities in terms of alternate RM / BOP / supplier introduction.
• Complete ITW training modules assigned as per the plan.
• Follow up customer for delayed payment with required escalation.
• Create BOM in SAP.
• Support Sales & project team in ISO & customer audits.
• Maintain tooling commercials & coordinate with Finance for invoice & payment receipt.

What your educational qualification & experience will be:

• Diploma (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing & Polymer science), B. Tech, BE. Diploma/Degree in Tool & Die making / Plastics technology.
• 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in Rubber/ Plastic products manufacturing industry.
