Role & responsibilities

Database Administration Manage and maintain SQL Server databases ensuring reliability scalability and high availability

Performance Optimization Perform database performance tuning indexing and query optimization to ensure efficient data retrieval and storage

Monitoring and Troubleshooting Monitor database health analyze logs and resolve database performance or connectivity issues

Backup and Recovery Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure data protection and quick recovery during failures

Database Security Enforce access controls audit logging and compliance with security policies to safeguard sensitive data

Upgrades and Patching Perform database upgrades migrations and patching activities while minimizing downtime

Incident Management Provide L2 support for databaserelated incidents collaborating with L1 and L3 teams as needed

Documentation Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations troubleshooting steps and operational procedures

Skills and Qualifications

Primary Skills Mandatory

Strong knowledge of SQL Server core functionalities including database creation maintenance and optimization

Experience in SQL Server Management Studio SSMS TSQL scripting and stored procedures

Handson experience in database performance tuning and query optimization techniques

Understanding of database security best practices and rolebased access control

Proficiency in implementing database backup restore and disaster recovery strategies

Preferred candidate profile

Basic knowledge of Azure Cloud Infrastructure including Azure SQL Database and related services

Familiarity with database migration to cloud environments

Understanding of hybrid cloud architectures involving SQL databases

Experience with automation tools like PowerShell for database management tasks
