Job Description
ISS STOXX is actively looking for a Team Lead/Senior Software Engineer in Python/PHP/JavaScript to join the Mumbai Team (Goregaon East).
Overview:
Join our team at ISS STOXX, where youll be at the forefront of building and maintaining our Rainmaker financial platforms in Australia. As a leading provider of industry-leading financial insights and market intelligence to our SaaS customers in the financial industry, were committed to driving innovation and excellence. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Rainmaker team, you will be developing new software products and maintaining and enhancing existing web-based products. You will also be responsible for a small group of 2-3 engineers on the team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of 2-3 developers and drive projects independently or in collaboration with other dev teams
- Collaborate with local and global cross-functional teams
- Be responsible for mentorship, career growth, year-end reviews, promotions etc. of the team
- Work with leads to nurture a people-centric culture
- Choose the right frameworks/technologies and write clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
- Work with the engineering manager and product owner to scope out projects
- Manage technical debt
- Mentor and train junior developers and delegate tasks to them
- Participate in code reviews and manage the code base
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team for testing and deployment
- Facilitate agile scrum practices within the team
- Ensure all processes are followed, and projects are delivered on time
- Learn and adapt to new technologies, languages, and frameworks
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in development
- Must have at least 1+ years of experience managing 2-3 developers
- Expertise in Object Oriented Design, Database Design
- Experience with SQL
- Experience with interpreted languages like PHP, JavaScript, or Python
- Experience with a JavaScript framework like React or Angular, is a plus
- Understanding of software architecture principles
- Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
- Experience using version control tools (Git/SVN)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Good to have:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience C#/.NET is an advantage
- Experience with containerization and micro services architectures is also an advantage
- Financial industry experience
