Title: Senior Software Engineer

The Group: The Financial Planning group builds solutions and capabilities that enable financial advisors to deliver compliant and comprehensive financial advice so that their retail clients and investors meet their goals. The solutions leverage Morningstars extensive data and research capabilities across all stages of financial advice making the advice process compliant, efficient, and effective.

The Role:  The Morningstar AdviserLogic - Apart from our existing product line, we are now poised to extend our vision further to reach out to every individual in Australia who needs to plan and manage their financial goals and access financial advice seamlessly with the help of cutting edge technology. In this space, we are looking to build a new product line that is scalable to handle retail users' load by utilizing technologies like cloud services, NodeJS, .NET core, Python and open-source relational/non-relational databases.

Responsibilities: 

• Responsible for analysis of current application/product - performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem and designing solutions to problematic code.
• Responsible for developing new product/features and assure production of a quality product.
• Design, develop and implement applications that support day-to-day operations.
• Provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
• Provide solutions to improvise performance and scalability of systems.
• Own modules in a project and take it from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.
• Design and develop systems to support both business and technical integration needs.
• Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions across technologies.
• Take a user-centered approach and rapidly iterate.

Requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in software development.
• Minimum 2 year of experience in cloud native application development using Azure .
• Minimum 3 years of experience in modern front-end JavaScript framework (Vue, React or Angular).
• Expertise in - Creating APIs using .Net framework or .Net core.
• Experience in Microsoft Azure Cloud should have
• MS Dynamics CE experience (Certifications a plus).
• Development of new solutions, data models, workflows, plug-ins, dashboards, and reports within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement
• Experience and knowledge in the development of Dynamics 365 (complex configurations, Plugins, workflows, data integration/migration)
• Experience in D365 CE development, systems analysis, system implementation, and change projects with information systems.
• Functional and technical expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 configuration, web service programming, development, and application integration capabilities
• 5+ years of experience in software development using Microsoft stack (C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, etc.)
• Skills in web services, XML, HTML5, SharePoint, SSIS, SSRS, MVC.
• Ability to create portals and mobile applications and enablement of web pages for mobile devices.
• Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
• Experience with the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Contribute to squad ceremonies including Story Refinement, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives, Stand-ups, and Demos
• Certification: Microsoft Certified Power Apps + Dynamics 365 Developer Associate or equivalent
• Good communication skills - Written and verbal to understand the current application and working with the Product Manager and Software Development Manager to understand the future functional and technical needs.
• Sound understanding of how modern web apps are architecture with JavaScript driving the application flow and APIs as the backend.
• Create technical designs and Power Apps. Configure Dataverse, Power Apps, and business process automation.
• Develop Dynamics 365 solutions (out of the box product features, custom development and/or use of third-party tools).
• Extend capability of D365 through creation of new entities, forms, workflows, reports, customization, config, security, and access model
• Perform D365 application testing of configurations, migrations, and customizations
• Provides technical and systems design expertise in the development, integration, and maintenance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), including integration to other business systems: Power BI, SharePoint, and other related business systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-directed and detail oriented.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, JIRA, Node JS, Vue
• Familiarity with MS Azure, Power Apps and Dynamics 365
• Financial services experience
