Position Summary:
- As a Tax Manager, you will leverage your project and relationship management to support the management with a sizeable portfolio of clients.
- In addition, you will also support the operational aspects of engagement management, such as resource management and elements of risk management.
- You will act as a mentor to the junior staff, managing and coaching them, thereby playing a key role in the Development of the team.
- You will be instrumental in building strong relationships with the engagement team and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform and review US tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, corporations, partnership firms and Trusts (Form 1040, 1120, 1065 & 1041) handled by executives and associates.
- Monitor, document and apply any changes in tax rates, tax laws for US tax return preparation.
- Responsible for Quality Assurance for projects handled by the team.
- Ability to identify technical issues on the engagements and to present with the recommendations to the engagement team.
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process related to tax matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial information and ensure accurate reporting.
- Ability to manage the engagements and coach the team on technical and functional concepts.
- Acting as subject matter expert ("Go To" Person) and be a conduit for knowledge sharing.
- Actively participating in technical forums.
- Develop content and help conduct training.
- Ability to identify gaps, coach, mentor and develop technical skills for team members.
- Contribution to the development and implementation of tax strategies to optimize the organization's tax position.
- Build professional relationships with US engagement teams.
- Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law
- Enhance the profitability of the Asset Management practice by streamlining processes and leveraging technology to identify more efficient methods
Skills/ Requirements:
- Strong accounting and tax knowledge.
- Proven experience in Team management, tax compliance, planning and research.
- In-depth knowledge of US tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment.
- Aptitude for learning technology (proprietary tools)
- Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
- A process-improvement and knowledge sharing mindset.
- Execute effectively in cross-cultural business settings.
- Experience working with an outsourcing work stream or in shared service environment required.
- Strong proficiency with MS Office suite.
Professional Qualifications:
- 4-8 years of preparation and review of US corporate, federal, and state tax returns.
- Chartered Accountant/CPA US
