KYC Intern

KYC (Know Your Customer) Intern in the RC (Risk and Compliance) department typically involve a variety of tasks related to ensuring that the organization adheres to legal and regulatory requirements concerning customer identification and monitoring. Below are some common roles and responsibilities:

1. Customer Due Diligence (CDD) Support

• Assist in the process of collecting and verifying customer information.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of customer identification documents (e.g., passport, utility bills).
• Support in risk assessment of new and existing clients to identify high-risk customers.

2. Screening and Monitoring

• Help screen customer information against various sanction lists, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) databases, and adverse media.
• Assist in monitoring transactions for suspicious activity, flagging those that meet red-flag criteria.
• Assist in transaction monitoring tasks to identify unusual patterns.

3. Documentation and Record-Keeping

• Maintain up-to-date customer records and ensure all necessary documentation is filed correctly and in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Assist in preparing reports for compliance audits.

4. Risk Assessment and Reporting

• Help in assessing the risk level of clients by reviewing their profiles and transaction histories.
• Assist in the preparation of reports related to risk analysis and compliance issues for management and regulatory bodies.

5. Compliance Policy and Procedure Support

• Support the compliance team in ensuring that the company's internal policies, procedures, and controls are up-to-date and in line with regulatory requirements.
• Learn and assist with the application of anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and KYC procedures.

6. Assist in KYC Reviews

• Participate in the periodic review of KYC documentation for existing clients.
• Help ensure that KYC records are updated and maintained as required by the companys internal policies and external regulations.

7. Training and Learning

• Stay updated with current regulations, compliance best practices, and industry standards.
• Attend internal training sessions on KYC, AML, and compliance.

8. Communication and Coordination

• Liaise with various departments (such as legal, operations, and sales) to ensure proper KYC procedures are followed.
• Assist in communicating with customers when additional information is required to complete the KYC process.

9. Assisting in Compliance Audits

• Support the compliance team during internal or external audits by providing necessary documents and explanations.
• Help ensure that audit findings are addressed in a timely manner.

10. Ad-hoc Tasks

• Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by senior compliance officers or managers within the KYC/RC department.Role & responsibilities
