Group Leader - Research & Development - Synthesis

Role & responsibilities

• Understand and plan to implement long term strategies of organizational goals
• Active and responsible participation with time bound planning and implementation in infrastructure development building of state of art R&D set up and piloting / Kg lab facilities.
• Responsible for evaluation of resources, tools and equipment necessary for wide R&D activities and the developmental work.
• Evaluate and outsourcing partners for development and scale up if required. Lead the overall scale up management during technology transfer (inhouse or outsource).
• Initiatives for DSIR-approval to attain necessary tax benefits on R&D investments.
• Lead and motivate the teams for new challenges, set clear measurable and achievable goals for them. Guide the team to deliver all the targets in a time-bound and cost-effective manner.
• Encouraging a culture of Best out of waste to make process environment friendly using recovery and recycle techniques.
• Evaluate various parameters aligned with organizational objectives and conclude on R&D annual financial budgets based on forecast of financial needs along with monthly tracking throughout the year.
• Evaluate best available technology (BAT) for a given product, and evolve chemistry-based solutions to yield the desired norms and specifications of the final product in time bound manner.
• Develop new products basket for future pipeline to maintain sustainability in the business in the near future.
• Responsible for final technology package document and process demonstration to other stake holders with transparency and preciseness in time bound manner
• Review safety aspects of the process (scratch to scale up) and visualize for prior corrective measures.
• Prepare related documents and strategies to face all related audits necessary for enhancing the market reputation of organization.
• Establish coordination with technical experts, internal and external customers to understand their needs and execute. Initiate activities for Regulatory compliances of the products.
• Prepare regular reports/presentations as per management requirements (Technical as well as non-technical). Soft Skills.
• Ensure staff health and regulations as per the required standards

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience in development of technology of various intermediate molecules having wide applications in pigments, pharma and agro industry.
• Experience to lead a team of a minimum of 10 members.
• Knowledge of literature and product costing.
• Practical knowledge of certain critical techniques like high-pressure reactions, catalysts, continuous and batch mode process etc.,
• Experience in halogenation and related chemistries.
• Expertise in recovery/recycling and effluent treatment technique.
• Exposure for technology transfer and scale-up.

Soft skills required:

• Hand on experience of online literature search tools like Reaxys, Sci-finder, Chem sketch, Chemdraw and Microsoft office.
