Senior Android Developer Contract

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Android Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the entire mobile application development lifecycle, from planning and coding to deployment and maintenance. This role involves not only technical expertise but also the ability to manage the process of delivering high-quality apps to the Google Play Store efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Development:
• Design, develop, and implement Android applications, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and robustness.
• Take responsibility for the full app lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, debugging, and deploying to the Google Play Store.
• Project Planning & Requirement Analysis:
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend developers to understand requirements and define technical solutions.
• Break down complex features into tasks, timelines, and deliverables.
• Code Development:
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code using modern Android development practices (e.g., Kotlin, Jetpack libraries, MVVM/MVP architecture).
• Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
• App Deployment & Play Store Submission:
• Prepare and manage app submissions to the Google Play Store, including handling app signing, compliance with Google Play policies, and addressing review feedback.
• Manage updates and feature releases, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
• Conduct thorough testing, including unit tests, integration tests, and UI/UX validation.
• Work closely with QA engineers to identify and fix bugs, ensuring a seamless user experience.
• Optimization & Maintenance:
• Monitor app performance using tools like Firebase or Android Profiler.
• Optimize app performance for various Android devices and screen sizes.
• Maintain and improve existing apps, addressing user feedback, and implementing new features.
• Team Leadership (Optional):
• Mentor junior developers, perform code reviews, and ensure high standards of technical delivery.
• Advocate for best practices in Android development across the team.

Qualifications

• Education:
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 6+ years of professional experience in Android development.
• Proven experience in deploying apps to the Google Play Store.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin & Java
• Familiarity with Android Studio, Gradle, and Jetpack libraries.
• Knowledge of mobile UI/UX design principles, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, third-party libraries, and dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Dagger/Hilt).
• Familiarity with database frameworks like Room or Realm.
• Proficient in using version control systems like Git.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
