Proposal/Tendering Manager

• This position directly reports to Managing Director and hence very clear, prompt and efficient communication is MUST.
• Identify and assess new business opportunities in the maritime consultancy sector, with a specific focus on port tenders and various maritime structures.
• Identify and assess new business opportunities in the Rail, Water and infrastructure consultancy sector.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the consultancy firm's client base and market presence.
• Maintain cordial relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and industry partners.
• Lead the preparation and submission of strategic proposals for maritime engineering projects, Water, Infrastructure and Rail projects in line with companys business plans.
• Coordinate with technical teams to gather project information, develop project narratives, and create compelling proposal content.
• Manage the entire proposal development process, including timelines, and quality assurance.
• Conduct thorough market research to identify industry trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities.
• Provide regular updates to senior management on the progress of business development activities, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and potential opportunities.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients during the proposal process, ensuring clear communication and addressing client queries.
• Work with MD to develop and implement companys strategic plans and align business development efforts with the company’s overall goals.
• Provide insights and recommendations on potential partnerships, collaborations, and market positioning.
• Attend industry conferences, seminars, and events to build a network of contacts, identify potential clients, and stay informed about industry developments.
• Represent the company in a professional manner at networking events and establish a strong presence in the maritime engineering community.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including technical experts, project managers, and senior leadership, to develop cohesive and clear proposals.
• Track proposal outcomes and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies employed in securing new projects.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Maritime/Coastal engineering with MBA or equivalent business-related qualification.
• 5-10 years of professional experience in business development and proposal writing within the maritime and civil engineering consultancy sector.
• In-depth understanding of port tenders and various maritime structures.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build and maintain very good relationship with clients and industry partners.
• Familiarity with the civil engineering and maritime industry standards and practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
