Design Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to join our team in the automotive industry. As a Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative plastic components for new product development (NPD) projects. If you have a passion for design, a solid understanding of automotive plastic materials, and proficiency in design tools such as PTC CREO, CATIA, or similar software, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop plastic components for automotive applications.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using CREO, CATIA, or other relevant design tools.
• Ensure feasibility during the design process.
• Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, performance, and durability.
• Conduct design reviews and iterate based on feedback.
• Work closely with the New Product Development (NPD) team to meet project timelines.
• Familiarity with plastic materials selection.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
• Experience in designing automotive interior or exterior plastic components is preferred.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in plastic materials and design techniques.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3 to 7 years of experience in automotive industry.
• Proficiency in PTC CREO, CATIA, or similar CAD software.
• Understanding of plastic material properties, manufacturing processes etc.
• Previous work in New Product Development (NPD) projects within the automotive industry.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
