Maintenance Manager

Role & responsibilities :

• Supervise the maintenance of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across various plant lines including Cold Rolling Mills, Annealing Lines and Pickling Lines.
• Oversee the maintenance of furnaces, kilns, and other heat-treatment equipment to ensure proper function and temperature control for better quality by troubleshooting and resolving any issues with thermal processes, gas flow systems, and temperature sensors.
• Oversee troubleshooting, calibration, and performance monitoring of rollers, mills, and auxiliary systems.
• Ensure the maintenance of slitting machines, decoilers, recoilers, and auxiliary machinery and coordinate the repair and adjustment of slitting tools, blades, and conveyors to avoid quality complaints
• Develop and execute a comprehensive preventive and predictive maintenance program and oversee regular inspections, servicing, and repairs of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Manage breakdowns and emergencies, ensuring minimal downtime and swift resolution.
• Evaluate and recommend purchases for new equipment or replacement parts by monitoring the inventory level of spare parts and maintenance supplies.
• Coordinate and delegate maintenance tasks and projects effectively and Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff.
• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, including labour, materials, and equipment costs.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies by Conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments.
• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance operations.
• Identify and implement improvements in maintenance processes and practices by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the maintenance team.
• Analyze equipment performance data and maintenance reports to optimize operations.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to minimize disruptions and support operational goals.
• Plan and execute annual, half-yearly, and quarterly plant shutdowns, including procurement of spares, consumables, tools and additional manpower.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding maintenance issues, progress, and needs and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status and inventory levels
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or services.
• Handle plant emergencies and manage resource allocation to ensure continuous and smooth operation to ensure effective response to urgent maintenance issues and coordinate manpower and resources as needed.
